Clearly communicates information in written essay format.
Selects and organises information appropriate to the topic.
Demonstrates an understanding of the concept of identity.
Demonstrates an understanding of the contribution of one person to the Australian
Identity.
Task:
Write an essay on ONE famous Australian. Write about their background, achievements and
how they have contributed to the Australian Identity. Your topic will be allocated by your
teacher.

Instruction:
The essay should INCLUDE the following:
A summary of the person’s life.
A summary of the person’s achievements
A brief explanation of how this person has contributed to the Australian identity.
The structure should follow essay format. That is, it should have an introduction, a
body of more than one paragraph and a conclusion.
Minimum 3 Academic English references (including clickview video)
Reference list should be on a new page at end of the essay
Plagiarism and cheating will result in a penalty.
1st offence = 0 for task
2nd offence = 0 for coursework
3rd offence = 0 for that subject
Penalties for Late Submission of an Assignment:
20% deduction for 1 day.
40% deduction for 2 days.
60% deduction for 3 days.
Zero from that point onwards
An extension may be granted due to illness if you submit a Medical Report. See further
information below.
Medical Report for late Assignments:
If an Assignment is late due to illness a Medical Report form (found in Study Smart) needs to
be completed by a Registered Medical Practitioner (doctor) in order to have the opportunity
to reverse the rules above.
